Videocardz의 소식에 따르면 Sony의 신규 콘솔이 될 플레이스테이션5프로 Trinity에 대한 정보가 공개되었다고 하는데요 프로라는 이름만큼 기존 플레이스테이션5에 비해 더 향상된 스펙을 가지고 출시가 된다고 합니다
Insider Gaming의 소식에 따르면 새 콘솔의 APU는 기존 5 모델과 동일한 8코어의 프로세서를 탑재하지만 세부적으로는 더욱 향상된 스펙을 가지고 있다고 하는데 다음에 나오는 스펙은 플레이스테이션 5 프로 Trinity와 플레이스테이션 5의 비교된 성능까지 보여줍니다

위 스펙에서도 알수 있듯이 5프로에서 High CPU Frequency Mode를 이용하게 되면 Core가 3.85GHz까지 부스트 되면서 더욱 향상된 성능을 보여줄 것으로 기대됩니다
또한 GPU부분에서도 향상이 이루어졌는데 RDNA3 아키텍처를 이용하여 최대 45%의 향상된 렌더링 성능과 2~3배 더 빠른 레이트레이싱 성능을 제공한다고 합니다 GPU는 60개의 RDNA3 Computing Unit을 사용하여 최대 2.18GHz까지 클럭이 올라갈 것이라고 하네요
GPU는 PSSR(PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution)이라 불리는 신규 업스케일링 기술을 지원하게 되며 향후 SDK 업데이트를 통해서 8K의 고해상도를 지원할 것으로 예상된다고 합니다 현재 PS5 Pro 개발 키트는 SDK 9.0이며 콘솔 출시 전에 10이 제공될것이라고 합니다
Insider Gaming은 통합 그래픽 프로세서가 BVH8 횡단 셰이더를 활용할 것이라고 말했는데요 이는 현재 PS5 APU의 RDNA2 GPU의 4레벨 계층 구조 대신 레이 트레이싱을 위한 8레벨 경계 볼륨 계층 구조를 나타냅니다 Viola APU의 이름을 처음으로 지정하고 PS5 Pro가 여전히 Zen2 아키텍처를 사용한다는 걸 확인한 Kepler는 BVH8이 RNA4 RT 아키텍처와 관련된 기능이라고 말했는데요 이를 봐서는 PS5 Pro GPU는 RDNA3와 RDNA4 기능이 하이브리드로 작동할 수 있다고 생각됩니다
새로운 플레이스테이션 5 Pro는 최대치의 성능 경쟁력을 가지려고 할것 같으며 기본적으로 1TB의 저장공간을 제공함과 동시에 추가적으로 여분의 디스크 드라이브를 사용가능하게 될 것으로 보입니다 현재까지 본 제품의 출시 예정은 2024년 가을을 목표로 하고 있다고 하며 아마 11월이지 않을까 라는 의견이 있는 상황입니다
저도 플레이스테이션을 참 좋아하는 유저로써 플레이스테이션5 Pro는 아주 기대가 되는 상황인데 과연 구매가 가능할지는 제 지갑에게 따로 면담요청을 해야될것 같네요

According to Videocardz, details about Sony's upcoming console, PlayStation 5 Pro Trinity, have been revealed. As the name suggests, the Pro version is expected to come with enhanced specs compared to the existing PlayStation 5.
According to Insider Gaming, the APU of the new console will feature the same 8-core processor as the current PS5 model, but with significantly improved specs. The following specs highlight the comparison between PlayStation 5 Pro Trinity and PlayStation 5:

MEMORY: 16GB GDDR6 18 Gbps (+28%)

As seen in the specs above, when utilizing the High CPU Frequency Mode on the PS5 Pro, the cores can boost up to 3.85GHz, promising even better performance. Additionally, the GPU has seen improvements with the utilization of RDNA3 architecture, offering up to 45% enhanced rendering performance and 2-3 times faster ray tracing performance. The GPU will feature 60 RDNA3 Computing Units with clock speeds reaching up to 2.18GHz.
The GPU will support a new upscaling technology called PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), and it's expected to support resolutions up to 8K through future SDK updates. Currently, the PS5 Pro development kit is running on SDK 9.0, with version 10 expected to be available before the console's launch.
Insider Gaming mentioned that the integrated graphics processor will utilize BVH8 traversal shaders. This indicates a shift from the current PS5 APU's RDNA2 GPU's 4-level hierarchy structure to an 8-level boundary volume hierarchy structure for ray tracing. This is the first time the name Viola APU has been designated, confirming that PS5 Pro will still use the Zen2 architecture. Kepler mentioned that BVH8 is a feature related to RNA4 RT architecture, suggesting that the PS5 Pro GPU may operate in a hybrid mode combining RDNA3 and RDNA4 features.
As the new PlayStation 5 Pro seems to strive for maximum performance competitiveness, it will likely come with a base storage of 1TB while also allowing for additional disk drives. As of now, the anticipated release timeframe for this product is set for the fall of 2024, possibly around November.
As an avid PlayStation enthusiast myself, I'm eagerly looking forward to the PlayStation 5 Pro. However, whether I'll be able to purchase it remains a matter for a separate discussion with my wallet.
